Villahermosa: Week 65 "Oro"

9 de febrero de 2015

This week has been a great one. We went to work here in Acayucan.

We decided this week to put our main focus on finding new people to teach. We talked with so many people its ridiculous. The Lord really did hear our prayers.

This past week, I also completed two thirds of my mission. 16 months. The time is flying.

This week, we had a very special lesson with Manuel. He is an investigator we have that is going to be baptized this next week. He is 34 and he has had many struggles in his life. We taught him the Law of Chastity and The Word of Wisdom. He has had some problems with both and he openly expressed that he wants to make a change in his life. We testified of the Atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ and of His amazing Grace and that He is willing and ready to forgive Him. He took it very well and has begun this great repentance process. He has come across doubts and trials since then, but we have been there to help him in the process. He is very strong and will be a great leader some day.

Sunday, the sister that got baptized last Saturday came to church. Maritza. And it just warmed my heart to see her on her first Sunday being a member helping out an elderly woman from class to class. She was so prepared. She will be a great leader some day also.

Also Sunday night, we were able to see an investigator we haven't seen in over 2 weeks because of his work. Before, we had invited him to be baptized and he was very hesitant and he had a lot of doubts. We invited him to pray to be able to find out if the church was true. We went back multiple times to see if he had been able to pray but we were never able to find him. But Sunday night, we were inspired to go see him. He was there. And he was waiting for us. When we got there, he told us he knew we were coming. He said that he just felt it. And he expressed how happy he was that we did not forget about him. Then he told us that he had thought and prayed about baptism and he wants to do it. We were so surprised. We just did not know what to say. Then the words came to us and this brother, Miguel Angel, will be baptized at the end of this month.

I love God, and the fact that He sent His only begotten son to pay for my sins and the sins of everyone that I love, so that we could repent and change and return to live and know Him again.

I love you all. Have an awesome week! And Mom, have you gotten the package yet?

Elder George
